ISLAMABAD – A day before Pakistan’s Independence Day, the Islamabad district administration has announced the closure of 5 hiking trails on August 13, 2026.
The decision covers Trail 2, Trail 3, Trail 4, Trail 5, and the trail behind Saidpur Village as part of arrangements in the federal capital.
The Office of the District Magistrate, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), issued a notification on August 12 stating that several popular hiking routes will remain closed to the public on Thursday, August 13.
According to the notification, the closure applies to Trail 2, Trail 3, Trail 4, Trail 5, and the trail behind Saidpur Village.
Residents and visitors will not be allowed access to these locations during the day.
The order was issued by District Magistrate Irfan Nawaz Memon and circulated to key government departments and agencies for implementation. The administration has also directed concerned departments to ensure compliance with the order and make the information available to the public through media outlets.
Officials said the temporary closure is part of arrangements being made in the federal capital ahead of Independence Day activities.
Citizens planning visits to the Margalla Hills trails have been advised to consider alternate recreational options until the restrictions are lifted.
