ATTOCK – Hazro Police have arrested 24 activists of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and registered an FIR against them for allegedly disturbing public order, blocking road, and attacking police personnel.
According to the FIR, the accused arrived at the Chachh Interchange un two cars and a Hiace van on Wednesday evening. Police said they blocked the road, raised slogans against the government, and used abusive language to incite people.
The FIR further states that when police tried to intervene, the protesters allegedly interfered in government work, violated Section 144, and clashed with officers. They were reportedly armed with wooden clubs and iron rods. During the scuffle, the uniform of a policeman was also torn. A case has been registered against them under PPC sections 341, 353, 186, 148, 149, and 505. Police have sent all 24 accused behind the bars.
DSP Hazro Arshad Khattak told this journalist that law and order will not be compromised.
“No one will be allowed to disturb peace or take the law into their own hands.”
As per the FIR , those arrested include Abdul Wahid, Abdul Razaq, Saddam Hussain, Faizan Akbar, Muhammad Hameed, Tufail Ahmed, Syed Islam Shah, Muhammad Naeem, Muneeb-ur-Rehman, Saleheen, Zia Rehman, Salim Babu, Sajid, Sajjad Hussain, Muhammad Arif, Liaquat Ali, and Muhammad Atif all residents of Mansehra. Others from Haripur include Waqas Ali, Farrukh Shahzad, Mujahid Ali, Shabbir Ahmed, Abdul Hameed, bdul Sattar, and Ali Zaman.
Police said 5 to 6 unknown suspects managed to flee the scene and raids are underway to arrest them. Two cars, a hiace and other items recovered from the accused have been taken into police custody. Further investigation is underway.
