Khyber – Four musicians were killed when the rickshaw they were travelling in plunged into a deep ravine in the Ali Masjid area of Jamrud tehsil late Thursday night, police said on Friday.
According to local police, the victims were returning to Peshawar after attending a music programme in the area when the rickshaw reportedly went out of control at the Shahgai Dosaraka (Two Roads) point and fell into a deep ditch. All four occupants died at the scene.
Police and Rescue 1122 teams reached the site shortly after the accident and recovered the bodies before shifting them to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Jamrud, for medico-legal formalities.
The deceased, all residents of the Shah Qabool area of Peshawar, were professional musicians, according to local residents.
After completion of the medico-legal procedures and identification, the bodies were handed over to the victims’ relatives, hospital sources said.
