DERA ISMAIL KHAN – The district administration has formally launched a district-wide crackdown against illegal, unregistered and No Objection Certificate (NOC) less housing societies.
According to the administration following clear directives from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government the decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Hikmatullah Wazir.
Assistant Commissioner Dera Dr. Hamid Siddiq, along with officials from the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) and the Local Urban Bodies and Community Administration (LUBCA), attended the meeting to finalize the strategy for the operation.
The meeting decided that a comprehensive operation would be conducted against all unauthorized housing schemes operating across the district.
Under the campaign, offices of illegal housing societies will be sealed, unauthorized constructions removed and illegally developed sites demolished in accordance with the law.
The district administration also decided to initiate legal proceedings against owners, developers and promoters of illegal housing schemes.
Cases will be registered under relevant laws, and officials emphasized that no leniency would be shown to those found violating legal requirements.
The administration urged citizens to safeguard their investments by verifying the legal status of any housing society before purchasing plots. It advised the public to ensure that a housing scheme possesses a valid NOC approved by the TMA and other relevant authorities.
The meeting further announced a complete ban on the advertisement and promotion of illegal housing schemes through billboards, panaflexes and social media platforms.
Authorities warned that strict action would be taken against anyone found violating the ban.
Deputy Commissioner Hikmatullah Wazir reiterated that the operation would continue without discrimination until all illegal housing societies are eliminated and the rule of law is fully enforced across the district.
