LAHORE – Lahore Arts Council (Alhamra) on Wednesday organised a comprehensive training programme on the Government of Punjab’s Electronic Filing and Office Automation System (e-FOAS) to promote digital governance, improve administrative efficiency and strengthen transparent public service delivery. The training was attended by officers and administrative staff of the council, who were provided practical guidance on the implementation and use of the digital platform as part of Alhamra’s efforts to modernize its administrative framework in line with the Punjab government’s digital governance agenda. Speaking on the occasion, Executive Director Alhamra Muhammad Nawaz Gondal said digital transformation had become essential for responsive and accountable public institutions, adding that the adoption of e-FOAS would help promote efficiency, transparency and innovation in official working. He said every digitally managed file reflected the institution’s commitment to good governance and responsible public service. He said Alhamra remained committed to implementing the Punjab government’s digital initiatives and continuously improving its administrative systems through innovation and professional capacity building. Programme Manager Zaid Bin Tariq conducted the technical session, briefing participants on the objectives, architecture and practical application of e-FOAS. The training covered electronic file creation, digital noting, workflow management, online approvals, correspondence handling, document security, digital archiving, file tracking, record management, user responsibilities and data protection protocols. Participants also took part in practical exercises designed to familiarize them with different stages of the digital workflow and enable them to integrate the system into their routine administrative responsibilities. The interactive session included detailed demonstrations and responses to participants’ technical and procedural queries. The participants termed e-FOAS a significant step towards improving the speed, transparency and quality of official processes by reducing reliance on paper-based documentation and strengthening institutional accountability.
