Emraan Hashmi’s ‘Jannat 3’ in development after ‘Awarapan 2’ success

0

Following its August 14 release, Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 is enjoying a successful theatrical run. The sequel’s success has now brought attention back to another well-known franchise.

Producer Vishesh Bhatt revealed that Jannat 3, the third installment in the series previously led by Emraan Hashmi, is currently in development.

Speaking to Zoom, Vishesh shared that after completing Awarapan 2, he is actively exploring the prospect of reviving Jannat.

When asked whether the third film would come to fruition, he responded, “Awarapan ke baad mein, I am absolutely looking at Jannat 3.” Regarding the progress of the script, he noted, “Vahi cheez pe kaam chal raha hain,” adding, “We are investigating Jannat 3 after Awarapan 2, and the scripting is underway.”

The Jannat franchise debuted in 2008, starring Hashmi as Arjun Dixit alongside Sonal Chauhan as Zoya. A sequel featuring Hashmi in the lead role followed in 2012.

Vishesh also dismissed claims that Awarapan 2 was produced merely to capitalize on nostalgia, clarifying that distributors initially showed little interest in the project and that it was not intended as a cash grab.

He detailed, “Nobody in the market came to buy the film. We put our own money into it. Yes, the market did wake up when the film was ready.” He added that if the project had been designed solely for quick profit, buyers would have shown interest much earlier.

Additionally, the producer addressed the box-office clash with Batwara 1947, starring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta. According to Vishesh, the simultaneous release does not represent a direct content clash, as the two films belong to different genres and appeal to distinct audiences. For him, the primary challenge lies in securing adequate screen allocations.

“And the hope is, it only comes down to aapko shows mile ke nahi mile,” Vishesh remarked. “Jisme clash ka vo hota hain ke aapko cinema mile hi nahi. Nahi toh aisa koi clash nahi hota hain. There is no content clash, unless they are the same kind of film. So many times on a weekend the audience watches both of them. I have done that in Lagaan and Gadar.”

Jannat originally released in theaters on May 16, 2008, and went on to perform strongly at the box office. According to Sacnilk, the film grossed ₹29.93 crore in India and ₹40.39 crore worldwide. The franchise returned in 2012 with its sequel, with both entries directed by Kunal Deshmukh.

Cristiano Ronaldo signals potential retirement: 2026 season could be his last in professional football

0

Football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has strongly hinted that the 2026 season could mark the final chapter of his historic professional career. Speaking in a recent interview, the 41-year-old Al-Nassr and Portugal forward reflected on his longevity, stating that he is preparing mentally and physically for what will likely be his closing year on the pitch.

With a legendary career spanning over two decades across Portugal, England, Spain, Italy, and Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo indicated that the time to step away from competitive football is drawing near.

“Probably My Last Year”: Ronaldo Reflects on His Final Stretch

Addressing questions regarding his future and retirement timeline, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner acknowledged the physical demands of elite-level football at age 41:

“This year is probably my last as a footballer. I have given everything to the sport, and while my passion remains unchanged, I have to listen to my body and be realistic about the timing of my departure.”

Despite hints of hanging up his boots, Ronaldo emphasized his commitment to finishing his current campaign with Al-Nassr on a high note, alongside fulfilling his international duties with the Portuguese national team.

Priorities Before Calling Time on His Career

Rather than looking too far into the future, the legendary forward outlined his remaining career objectives:

  • Delivering Silverware for Al-Nassr: Winning domestic and regional trophies in Saudi Arabia remains a primary focus before concluding his tenure.
  • Maintaining Peak Physical Fitness: Continuing rigorous training protocols to ensure high performance throughout his final competitive matches.
  • Mentoring the Next Generation: Transitioning into a veteran leader role, offering guidance to younger squad members both at the club level and within the national team setup.

A Career Without Parallel

Should Ronaldo retire at the conclusion of the 2026 season, it will mark the end of one of the most decorated athletic careers in modern sports history:

At club level, he lifted the Champions League with Manchester United and Real Madrid, and won league titles in the Premier League, La Liga, and Serie A.

Internationally, he led Portugal to victory at UEFA Euro 2016 and then to the inaugural UEFA Nations League title in 2019.

On top of that, he holds the official all-time record for the most career goals scored in professional football history.

Rita Ora gets emotional singing “For You” for Liam Payne

During her most recent live performance, Rita Ora was overcome by emotion during a homage to her late friend and collaborator, Liam Payne.

The British singer and actress performed “For You” on Friday, August 14, while headlining the BitterSweet Festival in Poznań, Poland. Amid the live performance of their 2018 duet, the “Your Song” vocalist urged the thousands of fans in attendance to sing the former One Direction star’s part. She was clearly unprepared for what happened next, completely caught off guard by the crowd’s response.

The performance turned into a massive, karaoke-style memorial for Payne, who passed away at the age of 31. The audience sang along to the Fifty Shades Freed track as the lyrics displayed across the enormous screens. In fan-captured video, the “Poison” singer initially appeared taken aback by the sheer scale of the crowd’s participation. As the audience continued singing the “Teardrops” artist’s verses, her expression shifted to visible emotion as she struggled to contain her tears.

Online viewers were quick to commend the Polish audience for delivering such a moving tribute alongside the 35-year-old Rita Ora.

The poignant performance carried extra weight due to the singers’ shared history with the song. Released in January 2018 as the lead single from the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack, “For You” became a massive worldwide hit and remained one of their most prominent collaborations after numerous joint stage appearances.

Following Payne’s passing in October 2024, Ora’s relationship with the song changed completely. Shortly after his death, she broke down in tears while attempting to perform it in Japan, telling the crowd she couldn’t bring herself to sing his parts. Since then, she has regularly honored Payne during her performances, making Friday night’s show in Poznań another touching tribute to their friendship and creative connection.

Ariana Grande, Ricky Alvarez fuel matching tattoo buzz amid London tour

0

On the opening night of her London tour, Ariana Grande seemed to flaunt a mysterious new tattoo.

Conjecture has arisen that the couple may have received identical designs prior to Ariana’s 10-day residency, as the fresh inking is believed to mirror one recently spotted on her boyfriend, Ricky Alvarez. Ariana appeared to have the words “I do love you” tattooed across her collarbone as she took the stage for the first night of her Eternal Sunshine Tour—her first tour in the UK since 2019. Reports indicate that Ricky has the same phrase tattooed on his chest.

The revived romance traces back to 2015, when Ricky served as one of Ariana’s backup dancers. They made their final public appearance together in 2016 shortly before parting ways. Later, in her 2018 hit single “Thank U, Next,” she referenced him with the line, “Wrote some songs about Ricky, now I listen and laugh.”

Rumors of a reunion began circulating in June when Ricky was spotted at Ariana’s birthday concert in Austin, Texas. During that performance, she altered the original lyric to “I know he’s still got my back.” At a subsequent show in Brooklyn, she further fueled speculation by singing, “We always find our way back.”

The couple appeared to confirm their reignited romance last week when Ariana posted two photos of them together in an Instagram carousel, tagging Ricky in both. It is believed the pair officially reconnected last month, with Ricky sharing his own Instagram carousel to seemingly formalize their relationship.

Ariana Grande has roughly 50 tattoos, including a matching “For Good” design shared with Cynthia Erivo to commemorate their time filming Wicked. Following fan concerns regarding her health after her recent “Petal” music video, Ariana stated last month that she would be stepping back from the spotlight.
