Peshawar – The life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), particularly his emphasis on morality, forgiveness, compassion and tolerance, came under discussion at a Seerat-un-Nabi conference organised by the Nonehaal Assembly of Hamdard Foundation Pakistan at the Archives Library Hall here on Tuesday.
The conference, held under the theme “Love, Morality, Forgiveness and Tolerance in the Light of Seerat-un-Nabi (peace be upon him)”, was attended by principals, teachers and a large number of students from different schools.
Chairperson of the Karwan-e-Hawa Literary Forum Bushra Farukh was the chief guest.
The proceedings were conducted by Hooria Haroon, a student of Kids School System and Girls College. The programme opened with recitation of the Holy Quran and its translation by Shamaiza and Hoor-ul-Ain, followed by a Naat session in which Aiman Shaheen, Masharib, Bairoha and Mehr participated.
Addressing the gathering, Bushra Farukh said the blessed life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) provided a timeless source of guidance and an exemplary model for Muslims.
She said the Prophet’s noble character, love, compassion, forgiveness and tolerance should be reflected in everyday life and translated into practical conduct.
She stressed that the upbringing of children should not be confined to academic education, and that equal attention should be given to their religious and moral development. Parents and teachers, she said, had a vital role in nurturing the younger generation in accordance with Islamic values.
Bushra Farukh urged children and young people to develop a deeper understanding of Islamic teachings, offer their prayers regularly, study the Holy Quran and learn about the Seerat of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him.
She said such efforts would help young people become not only better practising Muslims but also responsible human beings capable of making a positive contribution to society.
Students Javeria Hikmat, Khola Johar, Muhammad Saad and Abdul Mateen also addressed the conference, highlighting various aspects of the life, character and teachings of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him).
A special presentation of Qasida Burda Sharif was made by Dur-e-Adan and Tooba, while students of Warsak Model School presented a poetic prayer. The performances and presentations were appreciated by the audience.
At the conclusion of the conference, Bushra Farukh distributed prizes among the participants on behalf of Hamdard Foundation Pakistan in recognition of their participation and presentations.
Hamdard Foundation Pakistan Peshawar Regional Head Muhammad Khalid presented a commemorative shield to Bushra Farukh, while Zahida Noor was also presented with a special gift.
