LAHORE – Former PTI leader and federal minister Asad Umar has said that any discussion on the creation of new provinces should include party founder Imran Khan. Speaking to journalists in Lahore, Umar said the issue of new provinces should be debated in all provincial assemblies. He stressed that Imran Khan should be part of the consultation, arguing that the proposal could not meaningfully move forward without his involvement. Umar also criticised the country’s justice system, saying that a properly functioning system would have provided relief to Imran Khan much earlier. He accused the government of politically isolating the PTI. Turning his criticism towards the Punjab government, Umar alleged that it had failed to deal fairly with farmers. He called for the provincial government to step down and apologise to the farming community. “The Punjab government should apologise to the farmers,” he said.
